Your pets need regular wellness exams to ensure there are no health issues. From specialized and preventive care when they are young to regular wellness checks as they age, our goal is to find and prevent problems before they arise. Wellness exams allow us to establish a baseline in your pet’s health and make us aware of any changes that may indicate future problems.
We highly recommend scheduling regular exams for your pets. Often times health problems go undetected and can become more serious issues when left untreated. Even if your pet appears healthy, make sure they have their regular checkup.
Importance of Regular Checkups!
Preventive medicine is the best approach to keeping your pets healthy. This includes annual wellness examinations, vaccinations, external and internal parasite prevention and dietary management.
Why Does My Pet Need Vaccinations?
Vaccinations are vital to the health and protection of your pet. They are a preventive measure in combating infectious diseases like Parvovirus, Parainfluenza virus, Distemper, Lyme Disease, Panleukopenia, Feline Leukemia Virus, Rabies, Leptospirosis and Bordatella.
Vaccinations are essential for puppies, kittens, and other young animals with immature immune systems. Vaccinations generally begin at six to eight weeks of age for puppies and kittens. They are then are boostered every three to four weeks until they’re about six months of age. From that point, vaccines are boostered as needed and recommended by your veterinarian.
Vaccinations are not only vital to protecting your pet’s health, but also to protecting the health of the larger pet and human community.
