We’re proud to offer high-quality routine surgical services at Artemis Veterinary, and your pet’s safety and comfort are our top priority. Having a pet who needs surgery can be one of the more stressful times in a pet owner’s life, and we understand! When your pet needs a surgical procedure, we promise to explain things thoroughly and ensure you feel fully informed and comfortable every step of the way.
Surgical Services Include:
- Spays and neuters
- Dental procedures
- Wound repair
- Mass removals and biopsies
- GI foreign body removal
- Cystotomies
- And more
Before their procedure, every surgical patient receives a complete physical exam and baseline blood work, with additional diagnostic services available as advised. This allows us to ensure that the patient is healthy and stable for their procedure, and it also allows us to tailor an anesthetic protocol to their precise needs.
All patients receive constant monitoring during their surgery via both modern anesthetic monitoring equipment and a trained member of our surgical staff. Appropriate pain control is provided before, during, and after the procedure.
Thank You for Not Littering!
No, we’re not talking about trash – we’re talking surprise litters of puppies and kittens!
Every year, thousands of stray and unwanted animals are euthanized in shelters across the United States. Sadly, many of these euthanasias are the avoidable result of owners failing to spay and neuter their pets. Spaying and neutering help end this cycle and has multiple health benefits for your pet.
When you choose to spay or neuter your pet, you reduce (or even eliminate) the possibility of certain types of cancer or infections. Spaying or neutering also makes pets less prone to roaming and can help reduce unwanted behaviors like aggression or marking. Most cats and dogs can be spayed or neutered from around four to five months of age, but your veterinarian will advise you on the right time for your pet to have their surgery.
